Solar Energy Projects - Past and Present
Ouderkirk Residence:
This client wanted to reduce his electrical consumption from the local utility provider and have backup power generation for power outages. The house was a challenge being that there was no available roof space on the southern point of the house. An engineered top pole mount for his solar modules quickly became the solution, which also in-turn became a covered seating area for his backyard.
House Prior to Design:
» Daily kW/hr Consumption: 80kW/hrs or 2400kW/hrs a month
» Electrical Cost: $264.00 a month
After Design of 4kW Grid-Tied/Stand-Alone System:
» Daily kW/hr Consumption: 28kW/hrs or 840kW/hrs a month
» Electrical Cost: $92.00 a month
» Back Up power Generation: 4.5kW Solar Generator

Shuptrine Dock:
This particular client needed power supplied to the end of his boat dock. The length of the boat dock was a lengthy 1100 ft, so the conductor size to run and supply power to the dock would be fairly large. After a consultation, a plan to create a power supply that would power the boat lift; power nighttime lights; run a ceiling fan; and power tools was planned and implemented.
Dock Prior to Design:
» No Power
» Used a gas generator that was very noisy, created emissions, and burned fuel
» Power usage of 4 hours with generator: $16.12 burned in fuel
After Design:
» 120VAC power distribution
» 15amp Receptacle for general use
» 20amp Receptacle for boat lift
» Custom High Powered Focused LED lights for dock illumination
» Daily Operation Cost: $0
Comcast Solar Generator for Service Bucket Trucks
Service Bucket Truck Prior to Design:
» Gas Generator
» Emission issues with personnel using truck
» Noise issue when trying to work in field at night
» Maintenance issues with operation of generator
» Operation Cost- fuel usage
Service Bucket Truck After Design:
» No Gas Generator
» No Emissions
» No Fuel
» No Maintenance
» No Operation Cost

I am very happy with the lighting provided by the LED tubes. The fact that they do not attract bugs is a huge bonus. The "nav light" on the front of the dock is a very creative option. My dock is in a fairly remote area, so the all night lighting provides added security. This is the perfect system for any boat dock.

Thank you and the entire GenPower team for your professionalism and industry knowledge when istalling the grid tied, stand alond solar system in our home. Having the ability to reduce our utility cost, sell power back to the grid and have our home serve as a self sustaining generator in times of power outages has given my family a tremendous sense of security.
